Case study
Meetapka: shared meals, safely organised
An app for small-group meals in Poland: brunch, dinner, coffee or cooking together, with friends or people nearby. Meeting strangers makes safety a core requirement, and popular meals make seat limits a real technical problem.
Working demo

The problem
Organising a meal with people you don't know needs more than an event page: seats have to be limited fairly, the host's home address can't be public, and there must be a way to block and report someone.
Key features
- Meal lifecycle: public and private meetups, with invitations.
- Instant joining or host approval, and a waitlist.
- Exact address visible only to confirmed guests.
- Blocking, reporting, a moderation queue, suspensions and ratings.
- Bill-split calculator and in-app notifications.
- Data export and versioned acceptance of terms.
- Light and dark themes.
Engineering challenge: 20 people, 2 seats
When many people join at the same moment, simple counters overbook. Meetapka combines a row lock, counters and a database CHECK constraint. An automated test sends 20 people racing for 2 seats: exactly 2 are confirmed and 18 are on the waitlist, each with a unique position.
Architecture and technology
An ASP.NET Core (.NET 10) modular monolith with PostgreSQL on Google Cloud Run, and Angular 21 on Firebase Hosting with Firebase Auth. API, web and end-to-end tests are automated.
